Re-Routing
10/16/07 - This evening, we have implemented a different routing protocol in order to improve the stability of the network. Anyone
who has problems connecting should call our 800 number.
Power Outage
08/30/07 - As of 4.22pm we have lost power at our Network Operations
Center. We are currently running on our UPS and have shut down all
non-essential services. If the power outage is prolonged, we will have to
momentarily shut down all service while we switch to a backup
generator.
Update - At 5.10pm, we have now shut down the email server in order to
conserve battery power. We have concerns that the backup generator will
not have enough output to drive all the equipment necessary, so we will
try to keep the UPS going for as long as we can.
Update - At 6.10 the power came back on, so all services are up and
running. We have however lost contact with our tower in Antioch. We are
investigating the problem.
New Email Settings
08/14/07 - Recently we have been having slow response from our email server with our outgoing mail. The reason for the slow performance is that it scans your email for viruses as you send it out. Due to a recent update of the virus scanner it is now running more slowly than in the past. We have set up a secure connection on a different port, which does not scan the outgoing email, and results in much better performance. This requires our users to update their email settings. Basically what we need to do is change your outgoing mail to port 465 and use SSL.
